Location
This course involves extensive travel on the east coast of Australia
including Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Heron Island, Gladstone and
Cairns. Students will visit various Australian universities during
this course and see a wide variety of destinations. Most remarkable
is the visit to Heron Island and the finale in Cairns.
The program grants 6 credits (AN 4002/5008) from the University
of Colorado at Denver. The fascinating examination of the Australian
political system will offer you great insight into issues that you
are likely to encounter throughout your career. We will compare
and contrast all elements of the two relevant systems included in
the program.
We will look at:

The history of Australian Politics
* Political policy formulation
* The structure and role of the Public Service in Australian politics
* The roles of women, labor unions and other social, commercial,
and ethnic lobby groups in Australian politics.
Accommodation
All accommodation is provided and is based on twin and triple share.
Transportation
Students make their own flight arrangements. Airfare may range from
$1,000 to $1,500 per round trip ticket from Denver to Brisbane.
Program costs
$3,085 including lectures, field trips, accommodation and most meals
during the tour. Also includes flight to/from Heron Island and Great
Barrier Reef cruise. Not included: International airfare.
