CU-Denver Office of Financial Aid

The allocation of your aid will be based not only on your tuition but also on estimated travel and living expenses, so you can often get more financial aid for study abroad then you do for your regular classes. Students should consult Dave Aker in the financial aid office at 303-556-2886.

University of Colorado Scholarships

Benjamin Brown Scholarship for International Study - award encourages upper-division undergraduate students and graduate students on CU's four campuses in the fields of engineering, business, public affairs, the performing arts, or health-related disciplines for an in-depth experience abroad. The award is not intended to support a doctoral dissertation or traditional study-abroad programs.

CU-Denver College of Business & Administration International Study Scholarship - the scholarship awards up to $3,000 to fully enrolled CU undergraduate students applying for CU-Denver summer travel study or exchange program.

Other Scholarships

Fulbright Scholarship Information - annual competition for awards (full grants and travel grants are available)to graduating seniors, young professionals, artists and graduate students to over 140 countries. The program is designed to give recent B.S./B.A. graduates, masterís and doctoral candidates, and young professionals and artists opportunities for personal development and international experience. Most grantees plan their own programs. Projects may include university coursework, independent library or field research, classes in a music conservatory or art school, special projects in the social or life sciences, or a combination.

National Security Education Program -Supports undergraduate study abroad focusing on geographical areas, languages, and fields of study deemed critical to U.S. national security. (Excludes study in U.S., Canada, Western Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.) These U.S. government grants entail a service obligation.

Bridging Scholarships for Study in Japan - scholarships for undergraduates in any field of study, Japanese language study is not a prerequisite.

Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarships - supports study at a university in any country where Rotary is active. Applications may be due as early as 17 months before study is scheduled to begin. Contact your hometown Rotary Club for information.

IIE Midwest Educational Associates Scholarships for Study Abroad - grants are awarded to undergraduate students currently matriculated at a Midwest college or university which is a member of IIE's Educational Associates program. To be eligible, students must receive credit for their studies abroad and this credit must be applied to the completion of an undergraduate degree. Additionally, students must be in good academic standing and have had little or no previous study abroad experience at the university level.

CIEE - Bowman Travel Grants - are awarded to participants in educational programs and service projects in the developing nations of Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe.

IIE - Freeman Awards For Study in Asia - awards for undergraduate students who can demonstrate financial need to study abroad for academic credit in Asia for summer, a semester, or an academic year. Priority is given to applicants with no previous experience of Asia. Award benefits are determined by the length of the program: summer - $3,000, semester - $5,000, academic year $7,000.
