Location
The program allows CU-Denver business students to take undergraduate
or graduate business courses in English while studying in the beautiful,
historic city of Rennes, France, the capital of the gorgeous and
culturally diverse region of Brittany, located in the northwestern
corner of France. The Rennes International School of Business is
renowned for its global focus and its approach to learning, which
integrates business theory with practical experience. The university
is located in a city, which was quoted in the national press as
being one of the best places to live in France. Rennes has many
restaurants, cafes, pubs, theatres and museums, including the Musée
de Beaux-Arts, which houses one of the country's best painting collections
outside of Paris. Rennes' old quarter, with its surviving cobblestone
streets, is filled with 15th and 16th century Renaissance and medieval
architecture.
The region also benefits from the presence of many large businesses
and research centers, specializing in such fields as electronics,
information systems, and telecommunications. The city, which is
approximately 40 miles from both the Atlantic Ocean and the English
Channel, is also considered a gateway to the captivating region
of Brittany, with its beautiful coastline and numerous cultural
events including its world famous music and film festivals. Traveling
to other parts of France and Europe is also convenient since Rennes
is only approximately 2 hours from Paris, London, or Brussels.
The Rennes International School of Business offers courses in International
Marketing Management, International Finance, Global Business Strategy,
EU business law, and Management Information Systems. Most of its
business courses are taught in English and the school has a very
multicultural faculty with professors from France, the United Kingdom,
Canada, Algeria, Germany, and Ireland, all of whom have extensive
experience teaching and practicing international business. The university
is also focused on helping students to make the connection between
business theory and practical experience. Guided by an assigned
advisor from the business school's faculty, students define their
objectives and plans of action to develop their potential through
individual and group projects, connections with businesses, project
planning or events coordination for campus associations.
The school also provides students with access to a database of
information on various internship opportunities in Rennes and other
parts of France.
Two specialized language courses are available to exchange students
to help them make the most of their stay in France. One is an intensive
French language course that is taught prior to orientation and the
start of courses. The other is an additional French course that
is taught during the semester and involves helping students with
everyday communication in France.
Accommodation
Although the university has no on-campus housing, the school does
provide international students with assistance in finding accommodation.
If students are staying for a year, some possibilities are available
to live with a family. Students can also receive referrals from
the university regarding lists of apartments and studios. Temporary
housing may also be arranged for students while they look for permanent
housing. Students should apply for any pre-arranged housing, such
as temporary housing or living with a family, prior to arrival,
immediately after acceptance papers have been issued. In addition,
students can also apply for airport pick-up and must do so at least
10 days prior to arrival.

Students make their own flight arrangements. Airfare may range from
$550 to $750 per round trip ticket from Denver to Rennes.
